The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

So yeah it's pretty amazing. The story isn't especially complex (Neither was The Dark Knight's if you think about it) but the way the moving parts come together and move towards the conclusion is fascinating to watch. (Hard to give examples without spoiling something). Tom Hardy did an amazing job as Bane considering he had to act with pretty much only his eyes, and the accent he developed is something that has to be tuned to, but once you're used to it it's fantastic. A few instances where he's genuinely quite terrifying. Obviously some people are going to try compare him to the Joker but they're like apples and fucking oranges. Amazing in their own, different ways. Filled with 'AWWWWW SHIT' moments; twists and surprises galore. (There's one particular moment that many people didn't think Chris Nolan would do, but he totally pulls it off and it's the centrepiece of the entire film) The most emotional of the three. (Michael Caine and his performance can be thanked for that). Wasn't keen on Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle before seeing it, was totally converted though. A bit more action than the other two (Mainly all in the last third of the film) but it's never there for the sake of it and it all looks amazing. Chris Nolan still focuses more on character more than anything. Very much a conclusion to the whole Bruce Wayne story. It's hard to describe how good it is without going into really specific spoilers but yeah go see it.
